Music Video Presentation

As a starting point for my research, planning and eventually filming of a music video i went back to basics and tried to find through different sources what a music video was, how many types they were and how they differed.


I did this in a powerpoint presentation which i've screenshot each clip to show what i found.

The first slide talks about the fundamental reasons for a music video, and that they're a marketing campaign so people buy the song, which makes the artist a profit.  

Second slide is making distintiction that there is more than one type of video and giving well known examples of Performance Based Video's.

Third slide shows popular Narrative Music Video's, i chose Beyonce because of her success with the song "If I were a Boy" and felt it was a very good example of a narrative video.

The final slide described concept video's which for me were the most interesting and seemed to involve intertextual references that allowed them to make some sense, the example i used was Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy".
